New Zealand Spring and Summer Hunts
The Off-Peak hunts are over the late spring and summer period with lengthy daylight hours. Depending on the species hunted there are two main modes of transport. One we travel an adventurous route by 4WD, sometimes with a short back pack at the end of such, or we hire the services of a reputable helicopter pilot and get dropped off in a remote location. Tahr and Chamois are the only main species we hunt in this period, though Arapawa ram and Feral goat can be added.
Spectacular scenery is also normally at hand during these hunts, awesome mountain views which could be seen as some of the best to offer within our world. Off-Peak camp accommodation is usually individual alpine tent or alpine cabin. Full equipment is supplied. Hunters need be in good health and physical shape. Non hunters welcome.
Scenic hiking and trout fishing can be added.
Clothing and Equipment: Good strong lightweight boots with traction sole, gaiters, fee fitting layered clothing, warm jacket, reliable rain gear, hat and gloves. Camo, khaki and olive green work great. Free use of spare firearms for all occasions.
