In fact too date with this hunt we have been 100% successful with 99% of the hunters, and this maybe due to some of these facts.
- we do not hunt more than one hunter or organized group of hunters on a property at one time
- we do not take on big groups or take large numbers of game from a one off hunting lodge location
- we prefer to move onto new ground from hunt to hunt
- we have selected terrain for this hunt that is not overly adventurous or dangerous, as some hunters in their mature 70’s have been able to obtain a brilliant result
- we have been doing this full time for close to 30 years
Red and Fallow stag are hunted on the less formidable mountains, as often these species reside a huge amount of their time in forest or thick brush more common on the lower slopes. Tahr and Chamois on the other hand are a true alpine animals that prefer the use of more open high country. A hunter would then need be a fair shot, and often after a warranted stalk to this higher ground. However in the case with this hunt we have the use of ideal 4WD tracking helping eliminate a steep hike of any great distance. In most circumstances a non hunter companion can take part and watch the action.
